Do you offer counseling for children?
Yes. Most of our counselors work with children depending on age and services needed.
Do you offer marriage counseling?
Yes! We offer marriage and pre-marital counseling services. Additionally, we offer pre-marital coaching packages.
Do you have Christian counselors?
Yes. Our counselors are all willing and able to provide a Biblical faith-based approach to therapy, if desired by the client.
How long does a counseling session last?
Office and TeleHealth sessions are typically 55 minutes long. School-based sessions run about 45 minutes.
How much does a counseling session cost?
Fees for Services
The Center for Human Development can accept most insurance including Medicaid. We also accept self-payment and will work with you on a pre-paid package.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We are credentialed with most major insurance companies. Our Insurance Specialist will contact your insurance company prior to your first appointment to verify insurance coverage and benefits.
As a service to you, we will submit claims to your insurance company. You are responsible for payment of all deductibles, co-insurance and co-pays.
What should I know about my insurance benefits?
Helpful insurance terms
Deductible: the dollar amount you are responsible for paying before your insurance company starts to pay
Co-pay: a set dollar amount that is your responsibility per session
Co-insurance: a percentage of the amount charged for each session that is your responsibility.
Communicating with your Insurance Company
- Call the 800 number on your insurance card and ask for Customer Service or Claims.
- Have your explanation of benefits in front of you when you call.
- Speak courteously and confidently, you have the right to be treated respectfully and have your questions answered.
- Write down the names of each person you speak with.
- Repeat back answers to confirm the information is correct.
- Take notes, including direct quotes.
- If your questions are not answered to your satisfaction, ask to speak to a supervisor.
- Inform our office of this information, as this will assist us in processing your claim more quickly.
If your insurance company requests information
It is important that you promptly respond to all requests for information (questionnaires) you receive from your insurance company. Failure to do so may result in your insurance company refusing to pay your claim, making you responsible for the full amount.
If you are unhappy with the assistance provided by your insurance company
If your insurance benefits are through your work, communicate your concerns to your employer’s Human Resource Department. Ask them to contact the insurance company on your behalf.
You may also file a grievance with the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance at 608.266.3585.
Do you accept Medicaid and Medicare?
Yes. We accept both Medicaid and Medicare with specific providers. To ensure you have coverage, contact our office at (715) 842-0944 or toll free at 1-800-236-3792 to speak with our insurance specialist.

Our office hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday thru Thursday. Evening appointments may be available by certain providers.

Please be aware that our counseling staff are currently booked ahead for several weeks, however you are important to us and we will do our best to schedule a time for you as soon as possible.
